  1. This looks like it’s going to be a fantastic share. Many developers are good at building a great app but we often run out of steam when it comes to increasing the numbers of downloads that we can get. Advertising costs money and many of us are reluctant to invest further in the app that we’ve made. Using Instagram looks like a great option for increasing downloads. I really like the idea of having a lot of followers before launch. I could build this into my app building process so that I have plenty of followers before my app is launched. Also, this article is a great reminder that we should concentrate on promoting our app once it is live in the App Store rather than just leaving it to luck.

  2. Finding a marketing source that isn’t over saturated with “marketers” and ads is true gem. I haven’t seen many products promoting Instagram as a marketing tool yet. My kids use Instagram and if they’re on it, it really should be looked at as a real venue for connecting with my target market.

    1. All you can do for now is have the comment say, “Click the link in the bio of @YourInstagramAccount.” This usually works pretty well–we get a lot of clicks from the link in the profile section.

      1. thanks.i have done something like this in the updated version of my app!

        “download this #hashtagapps from @myprofile”!

    1. Hi Tom,

Thank for checking in! Yep–we’ll be sending out the email in the next 24 hours with instructions showing how to get it. Make sure you’re signed up for our mailing list on the right side of this page!

  5. What about creating an instagram based on being an APP Company (reskinning), that publishes posts on recent releases, be it new source codes, updates or new themes for those source codes.

    1. That could work, but I wouldn’t expect it to reach 100,000 followers because it’s a very specific/niche topic. I’m not even sure there are 100,000 people that are aware of app reskinning.
Nevertheless, it could be a nice account for those that are interested in the subject.
