This is a highly interesting topic these days.
Because like a lot of other industries, shit changes.
And when shit changes, some are complacent, some are reactive and some are proactive.
Since 2012, I’ve seen a lot of things play out that I saw coming, but did nothing about. The last few years I stopped standing around watching and started acting regardless if people thought I was a little delusional.
As you may of guessed, that means more risk. You lose more, but when you win you can win big.
On subscription, the pricing strategy ties into your marketing strategy which ties into your resources.

It’s important to understand if you don’t know what a “win” is for you and you’re convinced that you’ll know it when you see it, I’m warning you that can be a slippery slope.

A lot of apps launch and die. That’s not what we want. We want our launch to pay for any costs we had creating the app + give us a little cash in bank. Then everything after that is profit.

- Influencer marketing where you do a revenue split with someone that already has a following. I’m talking about building your own following to attract those influencers and all their followers to your new thing. In time this can snowball.

It was the art of using Chartboost to not only monetize the game with video ads, but to also acquire users.
I call it an art because some of us are better at one or the other. Either getting the users or monetizing them.
